Party At Backman Hall - View Log
Well, I hope that you’ve been able to recover from last weekend’s party by now. There were a ton of new comers who attended and I hope that you all had a great time and felt welcome!
I think the new Backman Hall facility worked out quite well (with the exception of the A/C going down later in the day on Saturday). The Power Boss (Dr. Death) was able to bring one of the two A/C units back online later that evening but we’ll definitely have to keep an eye on that at the next party. On a positive note, thanks to the extra efforts of Dr. Death, we had no power outages what-so-ever throughout the entire party!! Thanks Jeff! And the ever-so-familiar “Fun-Love” virus showed its ugly head once again but didn’t seem to affect too many folks because most of us had an up-to-date anti-virus program running.
I really want to thank Michael Baumbach and Kyle Corrigan from Intel for coming out and showing their support for our event. Here’s a picture of Jason “LiL_J” Lari who won the 2.53 Ghz Pentium 4 processor that Intel donated.

And in case you didn’t hear, in addition to the processor Intel gave us at the last party, they’re going to be donating a 2.8 Ghz processor for our next party too!! Woohoo!! Check here for the latest details…
The tournament went great with the exception of one map causing problems whenever we’d load into it. Congratulations to Archimedes for taking 1st place. By the way, there was some confusion about the “Death King” winner due to the fact that the statistics for the event were being misread. So instead of taking the prize away from Mark "Sobedragonz" Schneider who we mistakenly announced the Death King, we gave another prize to Acrid who was the actual Death King winner with 472 deaths. The prizes given were identical Everglide mouse pads donated by www.gamersport.com. My apologies for any confusion.
Many thanks to the following people for all their help:
