Faster Download Now Available For Jaguar Mod!
Thanks to Acrid, we now have a mirror of the Quake III Jaguar Mod that is faster than the original. It has about a 25kb/sec bandwidth while the old one is still at 10kb/sec. Using this new mirror should bring the download time for cable/DSL users to about 4 hours, maybe less. Check it out at the Quake III link under Jaguar Mods to the left. And if the new one fails, you can always revert back to the original.

Online Game Night #01
Wow! That was pretty fun!  Unfortunately, there were a couple folks who didn't actually have the Jaguar Mod Pack downloaded yet so they didn't get around to play. This is because the server hosting the file has a 10kb/sec limit on downloads from it and they didn't start to download until just before the party. Acrid said that he has some extra bandwidth that could be used for a while. Hopefully that will happen soon, before the next online event... :) I'll let you know. Some folks came in really late, including my brother (Duck), who lives in Eugene, Oregon. The funny thing is, his ping rate using a cable modem (80s) in Oregon is better than the ping rate I get using DSL (90-110s) just a few miles away!! Wow! Here's a list of those who played and stuff:

Those Who Played
1) Acrid
2) Death Bunny
3) Disruptor
4) Duck

5) Ham_Sammich
6) JAG
7) Mr. Buns
8) Scythe

Technical Difficulties
1) Disruptor
2) Duck
3) Jackal
4) Slippo

It seems like Thursday nights will work for everyone (haven't heard anyone say otherwise), so the next online event should be held Thursday, June 14th at 8:00 PM. I'll keep everyone posted about the next online event via email.

Cheap Network Stuff
Spoon Of Death forwarded this pretty cool link to me for cheap online patch cables, hubs, and stuff. He has already bought a hub from there and said there weren't any problems getting it etc.. I just saw a 10ft. blue CAT5 patch cord on there for $1.49! Not sure how much shipping is though... http://www.comcatusa.com/specials.html

Jaguar Mod Pack For Quake III Posted
One simplified .zip file of all the weapon, map, and model additions to Quake III that are used at the parties. Hopefully this will assist our online game play as well. Available for download on the new Jaguar-Quake III page to the left under the "Jaguar Mods" header.

Need For Speed V Car Pack Posted
Some sweet custom cars that Ajax cranked out for some FAST Need For Speed action are now also available for download under the "Jaguar Mods" header to the left. We will be using these cars at the parties.

Hot Party!
And I do mean hot! It was definitely a bit heated for a May afternoon, but with the AC cranked and the fans blowing it didn't seem too bad. Here is a list of those who attended:

1) Acrid
2) Ajax
3) Blazan
4) Disruptor
5) Dru Hynson
6) Eric Eurene
7) FUBAR
8) Greg Firch
9) Ham_Sammich

10) JAG
11) Kaizeroth
12) The Killer Bean
13) Matt Rust
14) Mr. Buns
15) Sami
16) Scythe
17) Shredder
18) Spoon Of Death

Even though Ajax finished a sweet custom car pack for Need For Speed V, we didn't get around to any racing action. *Sigh* Definitely next time... Mostly Quake III and some Unreal Tournament dominated the game play.

A special thanks to Ajax for helping setup the room, Disruptor for bringing his extra pc, and Shredder for the two 8 foot tables and extra fan.

Diablo II Anyone?
The Puffer was wondering if any of you might want to play Diablo II at the party? I'm sure he wouldn't mind an email from you if you did!

Quake III Jaguar Map Pack Nearly Complete
Well, I'm about 90% complete compiling the best maps that I can find; and there are a lot to choose from! I've downloaded nearly 200 "top rated" maps and most of which are at least "good". The tough part is narrowing it down to a select "awesome" few. I'm really excited about this and I think it will make game play at the party even more enjoyable! So if you're interested - check back soon!

Going To The Party??
Would you like to attend the next party on May 19th? The first 22 people who sign up will get the best seats and fastest LAN connection. A list of those who have already signed up has been posted on the "Preparation" page to the left.

Quake III Jaguar "Mod" In Progress (Hook to be included!!)
I've been working on getting a good map pack together for the party with some other easily incorporated goodies like a flame thrower weapon and a grappling hook all in addition to the added models. If you have an awesome map that you think should be added to the pack, now would be the time to pass it on! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any "swinging" grappling hook like the one in the Jaguar 2 mod. But the one I found works pretty well. The only thing is I haven't found a good model for it yet so it might end up looking like the lightening gun when fired. *Sigh* Oh well. Anyway, I'm shooting to get at least the map pack together by Monday May 7th morning so check back then to get a head start on familiarizing yourself with them for the party!

FYI
In case you didn't already notice, the Duke Nukem Tech Demo download listed below was indeed an April Fools hoax put out by 3dfiles.com. Bummer dude! ;)
